屢破奇案的重案組高級督察方正（許志安）眼里，慶功會(huì )上紛紛邀功的其他部門(mén)同事多是平庸之輩，多起案件能偵破全靠自己和手下兄弟阿澤（雷宇揚）等人拼命，因此他的言行多少有些獨斷高傲。某次緝匪行動(dòng)中，他等不及飛虎隊自行下達命令，兩名同事斃命街頭，他自己也中槍昏迷，在醫院一躺兩年。
醒來(lái)母親已過(guò)世、女友已成他人妻，身邊世界已大不同，但方正也意外收獲在他昏迷時(shí)一直悉心將他照料的女護士Oscar（李麗珍）的芳心?；謴陀柧毘掷m一段時(shí)間，方正各方面已與昏迷前幾乎無(wú)差，更多出可見(jiàn)到鬼的本領(lǐng)。此本領(lǐng)起初令他恐慌，不過(guò)生前是心理醫生的阿杰（張達明）一席話(huà)讓他放下心來(lái)。
